Living Kidney Donor Risk Calculators

What are the risks for Living Kidney Donors?
There are risks to being a living kidney donor. Besides the surgical risks of removing a kidney (also known as nephrectomy), there may be some special long-term health risks. Studies have been done to determine what these are for someone planning to donate their kidney. It is important to know your personal risk before you donate your kidney.
Three online donor risk calculators are discussed. You can enter your specific personal data into the calculator and it will estimate your risk. The first two use the same data to be entered but are found on two separate websites and only provide risk before donation. The third one from the University of Minnesota provides risk information after donation.
Risk Calculators
