How is KDC helping to discover more living kidney donors?
We started Kidney Donor Conversations (KDC) because we felt there were not enough voices across the country talking about living kidney donation.
During and after Glenna’s journey to donate her kidney to a stranger in 2017, it became clear that donors are often not provided all the options about how they can donate. And there are a lot of misconceptions about living kidney donation in the community.
It has been over 3 years since we started KDC and we have learned so much along the way. Our knowledge is shared primarily through presentations to anyone that will listen to our message.

Glenna Frey, APRN-CNS, is a nephrology nurse who donated her kidney in April 2017 to a stranger.
Amanda Frey, M.A., LMFT, LPC, is a Marriage & Family Therapist living with kidney disease.
Together, they co-founded Kidney Donor Conversations in 2018 to provide education about Living Kidney Donation.
