Starting Kidney Donor Conversations

Why another Nonprofit? 10 Reasons why we started Kidney Donor Conversations.
-
We have personal experience with kidney disease, dialysis, transplant, and living kidney donation.
-
Most other Living Kidney Donor (LKD) nonprofits focused on educating a recipient/family/friends about LKD, not the general public.
-
Most LKD education available is difficult to understand (and is rather boring).
-
We want to help people discover their desire to be a living kidney donor and support them through the process.
-
Donate Life America has very little focus on living kidney donation.
-
It is rare to hear anyone talk about living kidney donation outside of a kidney transplant center.
-
There is a lack of funding allocated to increasing awareness of living kidney donation for the general public.
-
Living kidney transplants last longer than deceased donor kidney transplants.
-
We want to help prevent, or get people off, dialysis so they have a better quality of life and live longer.
-
We care about making the world a better place and believe it can start with one mother and one daughter
Glenna Frey, APRN-CNS, is a nephrology nurse who donated her left kidney in April 2017 (nondirected). She and daughter Amanda Frey co-founded Kidney Donor Conversations in 2018 to increase awareness of Living Kidney Donation.
