Starting Kidney Donor Conversations

Why another Nonprofit? 10 Reasons why we started Kidney Donor Conversations.

  1. We have personal experience with kidney disease, dialysis, transplant, and living kidney donation.
  2. Most other Living Kidney Donor (LKD) nonprofits focused on educating a recipient/family/friends about LKD, not the general public.
  3. Most LKD education available is difficult to understand (and is rather boring).
  4. We want to help people discover their desire to be a living kidney donor and support them through the process.
  5. Donate Life America has very little focus on living kidney donation.
  6. It is rare to hear anyone talk about living kidney donation outside of a kidney transplant center.
  7. There is a lack of funding allocated to increasing awareness of living kidney donation for the general public.
  8. Living kidney transplants last longer than deceased donor kidney transplants.
  9. We want to help prevent, or get people off, dialysis so they have a better quality of life and live longer.
  10. We care about making the world a better place and believe it can start with one mother and one daughter.
